blojsom gets a BloggerDispatcher

« Re: Velocity? Jython? What do they think? | Main | Why Ben & Jerry's? Why oh why? »
I think I'm definitely going to have to add this dispatcher to our contributed section. I never really thought that outside of the JSP and Velocity dispatchers offered in blojsom that I'd ever see another dispatcher written. Besides, I hadn't seen any other blog software out there that allowed you this kind of flexibility. I figured, we support JSP and Velocity and that'll cover most all the bases. Damn, was I wrong! /images/emoticons/mozilla_laughing.gif

There was Chris Nokleberg who wrote himself a FreeMarker dispatcher. So, that brings blojsom up to 3 presentation technologies that it can support.

Today, someone submitted a first cut at a BloggerDispatcher. This person shall remain nameless for the time being because Mark and I are conspiring (well, just providing some guidance) on another extension to blojsom that's seriously going to kick major ass. But anyway, back to the BloggerDispatcher. In short, it understands the Blogger tags and does the translation to insert the proper information from blojsom.

Wow ... just wow! I mean, it's simple ... it works ... it allows those poor souls who don't want to upgrade to Blogger PRO to finally get titles in their posts /images/emoticons/mozilla_wink.gif Now, granted the Blogger template language is not a formal presentation technology, but it's its own beast. I'm just excited because now blojsom users have potentially 513 "skins" available from BlogSkins.com. So yeah, the support for the Blogger syntax will evolve, but the major pieces are there. It's just a good feeling to see this kind of contribution.
