Markup Selection Plugin for blojsom
The basic jist of a message on the blojsom-users mailing list this morning was, "I need an easy way to specify the markup to apply to a blog entry." blojsom has plugins to support Markdown, Textile, and Wiki markups. Hence, the new Markup Selection Plugin.
The next release of blojsom is looking better each day. You know you want to! Really ... you do!
Not to perpetuate socialite catch phrases from 2004, but ... well ...
<paris-hilton>That's hot</paris-hilton>
Now when you add or edit a blog entry on your site you'll get a select list in the editing screen allowing you to select a markup to apply to the entry. You can also remove the markup you apply to an entry. This does away with a) having to remember the metadata keys to specify a type of markup to apply or b) having to name blog entries with a certain extension to have a markup filter applied which isn't possible from the administration console. It's just ... I knew this new dynamic UI plugin functionality would be useful, but ... well ... it's actually really usefulAdds a field when you add or edit a blog entry to specify the metadata used to apply any text markup filters to the entry.
